Dr Eleni Azarias is a specialist physician in Geriatric Medicine. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Sydney. She completed her specialist geriatric training across Concord, Royal Prince Alfred, Canterbury and Royal North Shore Hospitals, and physician training at Prince of Wales Hospital.

Dr Azarias is committed to providing comprehensive care to older adults and can provide care for a variety of issues including dementia and cognitive disorders, behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia, frailty, falls, polypharmacy, orthogeriatric and perioperative medicine. She strongly believes in clear, compassionate communication of evidence-based practice to patients and their carers.

Outside of clinical medicine, she is passionate about public health and healthcare systems. She is completing a PhD at the University of Sydney under the supervision of Professor Vasi Naganathan on the provision of geriatric medicine services in Australia and New Zealand. Dr Azarias previously completed a Bachelor of Political Science with pre-medical studies from Princeton University as well as a Masters of Public Health from the University of Sydney.

Dr Azarias is fluent in French and conversant in Greek and Spanish. She can also speak basic German.

She is married to old age psychiatrist Dr Kieran Owens and can provide shared care of older adults with complex physical and psychiatric comorbidities as needed.
