Allergist & Adult Immunologist
Dr Bradhurst obtained his medical degree from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and completed joint Clinical Immunology and Immunopathology Training at Royal Prince Alfred and Liverpool Hospitals. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and Royal College of Pathologists Australasia (FRCPA). He is a Staff Specialist in Clinical Immunology and Allergy at Concord Repatriation General Hospital. He is passionate about finding curative therapies for immunological diseases. He is an investigator in a current trial investigating the role of Autologous CAR-T cells as an advanced therapy for autoimmune disease (including lupus, myositis and scleroderma).
Dr Bradhurst is an avid researcher in immunology and currently completing a PhD with Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the University of Sydney. His areas of research interest include creating diagnostic tests for rare immunological diseases, laboratory diagnosis of allergy and autoimmune diseases as well as assessment of the immune response in the laboratory. He was awarded the inaugural Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Scholarship in Diagnostic Immunology for his PhD research. Dr Bradhurst is a Clinical Lecturer with the University of Sydney.
Dr Bradhurst’s areas of expertise include:
- Allergy including allergic rhinitis, food allergy, drug allergy and asthma.
- Eczema and chronic urticaria
- Autoimmune diseases (including but not limited to lupus, myositis, scleroderma, Sjogren’s syndrome etc.)
- Immunodeficiency including hereditary immunodeficiency and acquired immunodeficiency.
- Autoinflammatory diseases
- Biological treatments for autoimmune, autoinflammatory and allergic diseases
- Immunology laboratory diagnostic testing
