Dr Monica Tang graduated in Medicine with 1st Class Honours from the University of New South Wales. She trained in medical oncology at Prince of Wales and St George Hospitals before undertaking a fellowship at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, where she worked with cooperative trials groups AGITG (Australasian Gastrointestinal Trials Group) and ANZGOG (Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group).
Dr Tang is completing a PhD at the Centre for Big Data Research in Health at the University of New South Wales, with the support of a NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship, a National Breast Cancer Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship and a Translational Cancer Research Network Clinical PhD Top-Up Scholarship. Her PhD examines how real-world data can be used to evaluate and optimise the utilisation of anti-cancer therapies in the Australian population.
Dr Tang is committed to teaching and medical education. She is a Conjoint Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales and an academic tutor for the University of Sydney Masters of Clinical Epidemiology.
