Lung Function Testing
The Chest & Sleep Centre has its own lung function testing equipment, enabling accurate breathing screening tests to be performed on all patients. We also test nasal resistance in the rooms which can be helpful when treating sleep disorders. These tests are bulk billed.
In the Public Hospital, comprehensive laboratory based lung function testing can be performed, including a range of challenge tests for asthma and skin prick testing for allergies.
Overnight Sleep Studies
Overnight sleep studies are performed in both the Public and Private Hospital. Waiting times are short, due to the size of the service. All our doctors are registered no gap providers so sleep studies performed in the private hospital are covered by the health funds. The only expense incurred by the patient may be an excess or accommodation fee payable directly to the private hospital on the night of the study. Patients are encouraged to contact their individual funds to clarify their level of cover. Patients are charged the schedule fee for public hospital sleep studies. We ask that the gap be paid in advance to secure your booking. Pensioners and healthcare card holders may be bulk billed.
