Brian has been a member of the Suite 20 Consultants Group since joining in 1999. He provides psychological treatment to adults requiring help with mood, anxiety, trauma, health and health issues. He is a fellow of the Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Psychologists and registered as a Specialist Provider of Clinical Psychology Services with Medicare.

Brian received his Clinical Psychology training at the University of Sydney where he was awarded the AH Martin Scholarship for Excellence. Since then he has been a passionate supporter of evidence-based treatments and kept abreast with advancements in treatments to the present time. He has completed further training in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

With over 30 years experience as a Clinical Psychologist, Brian’s skill and experience have been recognised by appointment to high level clinical and management roles. His past roles have included:

o Senior Clinical Psychologist, to The Northside Clinic Mood Disorders Unit
o Regional Allied Health Manager, The Northside Group
o Head, Department of Clinical Psychology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital
o Senior Clinical Psychologist, Dept of Psychiatry Royal Prince Alfred Hospital
o Clinical Psychologist, Mood Disorders Unit, Prince Henry Hospital (now The Black Dog Institute)
o President, Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy (AACBT) (NSW) 1992-1994.

He has worked extensively with mood disorder patients, with 25 years of consultancy to specialist Mood Disorder Units. He has presented and published papers on CBT treatment of depression as well as investigations of coping style in depression. He has been invited to teach and present workshops on the psychological treatment of depression by Sydney and Macquarie Universities, various GP Divisions of Health in northern Sydney and the Australian Psychological Society. He also has extensive experience in helping patients with chronic pain. He has been a consultant to the Eastern Suburbs Pain Clinic since 1999, and has been a Consultant to the Concord Hospital and Camperdown Pain Clinics. He is a registered provider with Workcover and has been an Independent Assessor with the
Motor Accidents Authority (MAA) Medical Assessment Service.
