Dr Timothy Brighton is currently a Senior Staff Haematologist at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney. He is also a Consultant Haematologist at Prince of Wales Private Hospital and a Haematopathologist within SEALS supervising the haemostasis laboratory at Randwick. Dr Brighton worked at St George Hospital as a Consultant Haematologist from 1995-2005 and then moved to Prince of Wales Hospital (2005-current). He is a member of HSANZ, ANZSBT and ASTH. He also served on ASTH council for 6 years as Councillor Treasurer (1999-2005) and continues to contribute as an ex-officio member to ASTH Council as Chair of the ASTH Clinical Trials Group. He is currently on council for HSANZ. Dr Brighton is a member of ALLG, ASH, and ISTH in addition to other medical societies.
Dr Brighton has focused during his career on clinical research and participates in numerous malignant and non-malignant sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical research studies. Main clinical and research interests include platelet disorders, bleeding disorders, and the investigation and management of thrombosis.
