BSc(Med), MBBS, FRACS, MMed/Surg

Breast, Endocrine and General Surgeon

Dr. Preda graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2004.

She was a General Surgery Trainee on the South-Western and North-Eastern Sydney networks and completed the program in 2013 when she was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

In 2014 she undertook subspecialty training in breast, endocrine and surgical oncology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in South Australia. This is a high volume department of surgery with one of Australia’s most well established breast cancer and oncoplastic surgery units.

In 2015 a 2nd year of subspecialty training was completed at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Nedlands, Western Australia. As one of the busiest breast units in WA a broad exposure to malignant and benign breast disease was encountered.

Both the South and West Australian experiences entailed comprehensive multi-disciplinary care of patients from pre- operative assessment through to post-operative care and longer term follow up.

Dr. Preda maintains an active interest in research and completed a Masters of Medicine/Surgery through the University of Notre Dame, Sydney in 2015.

In 2016, Tamara returned to Sydney as the senior surgical registrar at St. Vincent’s Hospital. She also took up an appointment as a Lecturer in Surgery for the University of Notre Dame and is actively involved in curriculum review and delivery as well as assessment.

Conditions managed include benign and malignant conditions of the breast as well as thyroid and parathyroid disease.

She has admitting rights at the Prince of Wales Private Hospital.
